Hello. The belt is sewn into the high viz panels. There are no belt loops, for example, so the belt couldn't really be replaced unless you're sewing something into the same spots or coming up with a different solution.
The elastic belt that is included measures a 44" circumference when just laying flat on a table. Stretched out, it can go up to at least 66", but that is putting a lot of stress on the elastic. I would suspect that the "safe range" for stretching would be around 50-56" or so. I don't see too much stress at the elastic in that range.
If that wouldn't work for you, have you seen our Classic Vest (https://www.aerotechdesigns.com/atd-h...)? It is a windproof layer so it is slightly heavier than this mesh option, but it could be an alternative for you too if you aren't sure about the elastic on this item.
