Hello. This is designed as a compression base layer so it is very form fitting. Following the size chart should yield a fit like you see in the product photos - very snug. If you prefer a more relaxed fit you can always size up by a few sizes, but generally this top is very snug fitting. Layering over top of it shouldn't be a problem at all because it fits so close.
