Hello. Thank you for your question. These gloves run a little bigger than many of our other styles and that difference is reflected in the product-specific size chart in the listing:
If you're in between sizes, it may depend. At 8-1/2 you should still be fine in the Medium (8). My hands measure 8 and I have a bit of room in the Mediums, personally. Just in case we always include an exchange form with each order in case anything doesn't fit when you try them on. Or some people will order 1 pair of each size, try them both on to compare and then return the one that doesn't fit for a refund.
