Hello. Great question. Everyone has their preferences, of course, but we would put any of our products up against our competitors any day of the week.
Specifically with our Elite Endurance Bib Shorts here, the chamois is certainly on the thicker end of the spectrum for added support but the gel layer is carefully spun into a fiber-like structure so that the gel strands stand vertical to provide cushion and lasting support. This enables the gel layer to breathe better than most traditional gel pad options, allowing moisture to wick better and creating a better riding experience. Nice bonus features like the hidden rear pocket, segmented silicone gripper band and 3M reflective trim are very forward-thinking and comfortable as well. And the blend of nylon/spandex fabric in high contact areas and lighter weight polyester/spandex on outer panels balances all the best properties of these synthetic, performance-driven materials.
Our Gel Touring Bib Shorts are very popular as well as they use our densest gel chamois (again, with aeration holes throughout to promote breathability) and feature large side pockets (perfect for stashing cue sheets, nutrition...snacks, and other items that you need to get to quickly and repeatedly).
And our new Voyager Bib Shorts also feature a high end chamois that is purely foam-based (no gel component, unlike the options above). The hidden rear pocket, reflective trim and comfortable fit echo our other options as well.
Additionally, we pride ourselves on our inclusive sizing (both of these options, for example are available up to 4XL Tall) that takes into account a more "American sizing" model than many of our competitors. We can always help you find a size or style that works for you, regardless of your body type.
I hope that this helps a bit, but please feel free to get in touch with us at 1-800-783-8326 or cyclewear@aerotechdesigns.com if you have any questions at all. We're always happy to help.
