Hello. This style has a fleece liner rather than a traditional cycling-specific chamois pad. So it works great to wick moisture and help prevent chafing, but it doesn't offer as much support for the cycling leg of event day as much as a more traditional cycling short would.
As an alternative, our Women's Classic Triathlon Shorts use a pad that is on the thinner side with a lot of aeration lines to help it dry quick once you get out of the water, but it also has a moderate foam padding (6mm thick at the sit bones) for the cycling leg and it is flexible and lightweight enough that it moves with you and doesn't bunch up or interfere once you start the final running leg. It tries to blend needs of all three phases of a triathlon and offers more support than the fleece liner in this Competition Skin Suit. If you're headed out for a long bike ride, you'll probably be better served going for a cycling-specific bottom, but when it comes to a multi-purpose option that works well for all 3 phases, the Classic Triathlon Shorts really helps to support you on race day.
I hope that this helps but please get in touch with us at 1-800-783-8326 or cyclewear@aerotechdesigns.com if you have any questions at all.
Thanks!
