How does fit compare with the Pro Men’s sleeveless cycling jersey.

I have an Aero Tech sleeveless pro men’s cycling jersey. My chest measures (with a tape) at 42 and I wear a 42 suit jacket. I was leery of the size chart, which recommends I get an XL and ordered a Large. The large looks OK, though a bit baggy throughout. Worse, the shirt shifts around when I carry much of anything (e.g., a phone) in the rear pockets. So I wish I had bought a Medium.

I imagine this fit would be ok for a jersey but I’m concerned that as it’s made for layering that it may be cut even larger. So with my hesitation on size — especially given my experience with the sizing chart — I’m wondering if you could give me better idea of what size I should buy.

Hello. We'd be happy to help. When laying flat on a table, a Medium measures 43 inches circumference at the armpits and a Large measures 44 inches. This is a casual fit (instead of a race fit) so the taper to the bottom hem is only about a 6 inch difference (37 inches for Medium, 38 inches for Large when laying flat on a table, not stretched at all).
