Hello. The product-specific size chart in each listing is showing the rider's body measurements. The actual jacket is a bit larger than that so that you can layer under it and have freedom of motion as you wear it.
For example, a 4XL is designed for a rider chest circumference of 54-56 but if you lay a 4XL down on a table, the actual chest circumference at the armpits is about 61 inches.
