Hello. The fabric is polyester/spandex so a tad heavier weight than the Elite Bibs (polyester/nylon/spandex). But they're still a lightweight, warm weather option; don't think that they're thermal or anything like that.
The sizing/fit is the same for both so if you should be good with the same size in each.
When it comes to the chamois, the Core Bibs use our Century Pad, which is about 2mm thinner at the sit bones than the Elite Pad. And the chamois is purely foam-based so there is no gel layer like in the Elite but the pads are both long distance/high mileage-specific.
