Hello. It is a causal fit, definitely not a race fit. If you follow the size chart you should get a nice, comfortable fit. Not too loose so that it is baggy, but you can still wear a layer or two under it without issue. If you're normally a men's X-Large t-shirt you're probably an X-Large in this too. In women's the usual rule of thumb when going off your t-shirt size is to go down one size (so if you're a Large in a women's t-shirt probably start with a Medium here).
