Hello. There are a few differences and thank you for the question. The 3D Gel Shorts use one of our thickest pads (15mm thick at the sit bones) and it is composed of dense foam layers surrounding a very high density gel layer that is positioned right at the sit bones. There is no gripper elastic at the leg openings and the pockets are moderately sized. This is one of our very few imported items and it only comes in Black.
The Gel Touring Shorts have a similar pad construction with the foam layers and very dense gel layer and this chamois is about 3mm thinner at the sit bones. The pockets are larger and these shorts have a drawstring waistband as opposed to the elastic waistband of most of our other shorts, including the 3D Gel Shorts above. The Gel Touring style also has leg grippers at the hems and is available in several colors. This style is also made locally here in our Pittsburgh, PA office.
I hope that this helps but please let us know if you have any questions: 1-800-783-8326 or orders@aerotechdesigns.com. We are always happy to help.
Thank you!
