Hello. This is one of our few imported items; it is made in China. It is bulkier, yes. It is thermal so it has filling between the reversible layers.
If you're looking for a thinner vest, check out our Original Vest, Classic Vest, and Canyon Vest, all of which are made here in our Pittsburgh, PA office so they're not imported.
