does the front seam extend into the crotch area, between the legs? I am concerned about friction.

Hello. The seams meet up at the crotch, yes. But the chamois covers a lot of that from the inside and we only use soft, flat stitches too to prevent friction and chafing. It is the same design we use in all of our bottoms. Please let us know if you have any questions.
