Hello. Longevity depends on how frequently the pad is used (if you only ride in one pair of shorts the pad will wear out quicker than if you rotate it with other padded shorts, of course). But the durability and longevity of all of our pads are at or above industry norms for certain. You shouldn't have any issues there.
As far as care goes, you can wash any of our gear very easily: Product Care. This pad is designed to be sewn in to an existing pair of shorts, tights, capris, etc. So just let us know if you have any specific questions on that. We do make one called our Removable Pad that is designed to be temporarily worn inside compression shorts or something, if you plan on just using it every once in a while.
